The Party Wall Act 1996 is a legislative format which deals with a range of building works that take place on or near an existing wall that is shared with another property. The act also covers:
A new building or extension to a property on or astride the boundary line between properties.
Work to an existing party wall or party structure, excavation near to and below the foundation level of neighbouring buildings.
